why does mussa take so long to recompute a large nway?

Description
you can load an nway and it'll show up correctly? but if you set back to that threshold it can take far longer to recompute.

Compare just repeatmask the first sequence... Expectation is that this should be vastly smaller than the full.
Then repeat mask the rest of them... Should be a smaller
